At the present moment prevention of emergencies of buildings and structures is still the priority direction of investigations in the construction branch. The statistics shows that the possibility of 25 crashes a year is 1,0, and in case of human losses - 0,3. The great number of these emergencies is of a progressive character, when a local crash leads to the crash of the whole construction or of the great part of its structures. We should note that also industrial buildings are among the buildings where major accidents happen. And their number is growing with every year. The following article examines the problem of progressive collapse in block coverings of industrial buildings when the failure of one truss results in the collapse of the entire block. The overview of experimental investigations of the construction elements of block coverings is carried out. The methodology of experimental investigations of block coverings under emergency influences is introduced. The following article also introduces the results of experimental investigations. The numerical modeling of the block covering model is introduced and the comparative analysis with experimental data is performed.
